What is it

Instagram launched a new feature on June 20th called IGTV and everyone is freaking out. What exactly is IGTV? Does this mean YouTube is going to fade just like Snapchat did? What does the future look like for social media?

In simple terms IGTV is a vertical tv series built within the Instagram app where creators will be able to upload videos up to one hour long. This gives the users the ability to create their own shows for their channel changing the game in influencer marketing and content creation. Instagram will release monetization towards the end of this year, which might threaten the YouTube platform.

For influencer they need to get creative and take advantage of this ASAP as we know the future of the tech world is Video. Time to get out of your comfort zone, roll up your sleeves and start learning how to make quality videos if you want to keep up. How To Create A Channel

Instagram is rolling out the ability for everyone to create a channel in the next few weeks. Once you have access to it it’s pretty simple to create a Channel and upload a video.

Step 1) Click on the IGTV icon in your home screen

Step 2) Click on the Settings wheel and Create Channel

Step 3) Keep clicking next until you get to the Create Chanel button

 

How To Upload Videos

There are two ways of uploading videos, through the mobile app and through the desktop. If you want to upload videos up to 60 minutes long you’ll have to use the desktop version.

Mobile Upload:

To upload from your phone go to your Instagram app, click on IGTV, click on your profile and click the + button to choose the video from your phone.

Desktop Upload:

Go to Instagram.com, login and go to your profile, click IGTV and click upload.
